"Just returned from Baja California Sur. Spent eight days all over the area from Cabo, San Jose, Todos Santos and La Paz. Things are very slow. Very few tourists in La Paz, Westin Hotel in San Jose at 35%, all restaurants in San Jose very slow. Cabo had a lot of spring breakers but overall slow. The G20 will be in the Cabo area the beginning of June instead of Chicago. Should help in a very big way. High end is doing better than med. to low end overall. Perception is that lower Baja is much safer than mainland Mexico. The US press continues to hammer the drug issues and murder rate in all of Mexico.If you can get 3/31, Sat issue of Wall Street Journal there is a great article on the front page about murders in the US. Two and a half times that of the average in Mexico in the past 6 or 7 years. We are looking at november dates. Will keep you posted."
